Total Solar Eclipse!\nThe BAS-Harrison Bay Star Walk is turning one-year-old this month! \nCome a little early to join Past President Richard Clements on a guided \ntour of the Star Walk. We will meet at the Star Walk Parking Area, which\n is right across from the Friends of Harrison Bay Office and the Bird \nEnclosure (this is the parking area for the walking trail) at 7:30. The \nStar Walk is a level, 1/2-mile gravel walking path.\nAt 9:00 pm, everyone is invited to the Rec Hall for a "debriefing" of\n the magnificent solar eclipse. The skies were excellent across \nTennessee, and the eclipse did not disappoint! Come and bring your \nthoughts and stories, and see imagery by the BAS crack-team of \nphotographers. Maybe even a preview of the 2024 eclipse!\nOf course, as the sun is setting (around 8:00) we will have our \ntelescopes out in the Rec Hall parking lot to start the evening's \nobserving, weather-permitting.\nThe star party starts at 7:30 pm and should last until 11:30 or so \n(we'll stay as long as people want to look into our telescopes or the \nRangers kick us out ;) - weather permitting. \nWatch Facebook for updates the day of the Party.\nThis event is FREE and everyone is welcome! Travel 8.3\n miles to Harrison Bay Road; turn left. There is a pretty big sign for \nthe park. On Harrison Bay Road, travel approximately 1.5 miles to the \nmain park entrance on the left - turn left. Stay to the right at the \nfork in the road and continue about 0.5 miles.
