ALL: Please meet in the Rec Hall!
Join the BAS at Harrison Bay State Park for special Harrison Bay State Park Star Party! This January we will combine our regular Star Party with our annual New Telescope Workshop!
Get a new Telescope for Christmas, or perhaps you have had a telescope for some time but are not quite sure how to operate it?
Starting at 4:00 pm bring your scope to the Harrison Bay State Park Rec Hall and members of the BAS will help you out! We will show you how to set the scope up properly and show you how you can get the most from your instrument.
Starting at 6:00 pm we will head outside and start observing! There will be a nice variety of heavenly objects on display. Orion is in the sky, and this is one of the best places to start observing things through your new scope. In addition to telescopic wonders, there will be constellation identification, stories, and more.
This event is free and everyone is welcome! Even if you don't have a telescope you are welcome stop by and check out the night sky!
Please RSVP in the comments tell us as much as you can about you scope (brand and model number). Then come on down and let BAS help you get off to the best possible start with your new scope!
In the event of inclement weather, we will still hold the New Telescope Workshop in the Rec Hall. We will then have a program on finding your way around the winter sky.
