Join us Saturday, April 1st for the return of the public Star Party Season at Cloudland Canyon.  This Monthly Star Party is held on the fist Saturday of every month, weather permitting.  Entrance to the park is $5 per car (pay at the entrance gate, please), but the Star party is free once inside.  The Park is very kind to let us use this beautiful space with dark skies to see the wonders of the universe.

Reminder: There are NO restrooms at the top of the hill where the Star Party happens.  The closest restrooms at the park are at the entrance to the connector trail at the bottom of the hill and at the stop sign at the center of the Park near the camper campground.

Event begins at 8pm.  If you have trouble seeing at night, please feel free to bring a flashlight but please keep it pointed to the ground and turn it off when not walking.  EVEN BETTER, bring a red light as red light does not hinder night vision as much.  Preserving night vision is a tricky endeavor, but worthwhile to truly see the night sky.  For more information on preserving night vision read here: https://www.nps.gov/articles/dark-adaptation-of-the-human-eye-and-the-value-of-red-flashlights.htm
