The Barnard Astronomical Society Today

banner image

The Barnard Astronomical Society functions today by the principles and motivational examples bequeathed by Clarence T. Jones and Llewellyn Evans. We continue with the activities of the South Eastern Regional Astronomical League and The Tennessee Academy of Science. Our members are active in conducting public awareness seminars in astronomy, telescope making and astrophotography. The core of amateur astronomy today is in the minds of all who seek knowledge in the stars. We must see this spirit live and point the way for all who ask.

2022 Update

Our members are promoting public awareness by hosting several public star viewing parties each month along with a monthly meeting and presentation open to the public.

Our members can provide observing help for visual, binocular, optical telescopes, and electronic assisted astronomy ( telescopes with attached cameras ).
