OK Folks – looks like the weather is going to be poor tonight, so we are going to have to cancel tonight’s (6/1/24) star party at Cloudland Canyon. We will be posting information for July, August, and September Cloudland Canyon star parties soon, so be on the lookout for that!

Please join us at the Disc Golf parking area for an evening of astronomical observations with visual telescopes, Electronically-Assisted scopes and monitors, and just looking up with our eyes!

Note: BAS events are free to all, but Cloudland Canyon requires a $5.00 parking fee per vehicle.

Basic information for the June 1, 2024 Cloudland Canyon Star Party:

• Sunset: 8:50 pm
• Moon: 32% waning crescent. No Moon tonight!
• Set-Up: 7:30-8:30 pm
• Guest Arrival: 8:30 pm
• Deep Sky: Galaxy Season. Plenty of open clusters and other spring goodies! Early summer targets rising.
• Planets: None.
• The nature of these events means they are weather-dependent. Updates posted between 2:00 and 3:00 pm.
