Harrison Bay State Park offers an excellent star gazing location within about 30 minutes of downtown Chattaonooga.
Club members provide telescopes for public viewing. Arrive during the daylight to view the telescopes. As daylight fads into dusk, the moon is usually the first object folks view. This is a favorite for our younger audience. As full dark falls, expect to see galaxies, star clusters, nebulae, and other astronomical objects. Typically someone will use a green laser pointer to point our constellations and well known stars.
