Outreach
An outreach event is typically where BAS members travel to your location for the purpose of promoting astronomy to a selected group at a school, STEM/STEAM event, or non-profit organization. The BAS can provide both daytime viewing of the sun through specialized solar telescopes, dusk or pre-dark viewing of the moon, and full dark viewing of stars, galaxies, and nebulae (see Star Party Information). Many of our members are also able to provide presentations on astronomy-related topics.
Although one of primary goals of the BAS is community outreach, we are also a non-profit volunteer organization. The BAS is limited in availability and resources, but we do our best to help support local educational and non-profit events when possible. Unfortunately, we do not support “for-profit” events. Please use our Contact Us page to request an outreach event.
